Khatumo Development Research Center (KDRC)

is a local non-governmental organization (LNGO) based in Laas’anod the capital of Khatumo State of Somalia. KDRC was founded on 15 June 2024 and is governed by a Board of Directors (BoD) of five members.

Empowering Communities through Research, Dialogue, and Sustainable Development

Peace-building Initiatives

KDRC fosters community reconciliation and peace through dialogue and cooperation, providing spaces and support for coordination and observation. These efforts aim to cultivate environmental and cultural peace within communities in SSC-Khatumo state and beyond.

Good Governance Promotion

Focused on improving public service delivery and fostering the rule of law, KDRC supports the development of democratic public institutions in SSC-Khatumo state. The center promotes democracy, human rights, and transparent decision-making processes

Community Empowerment Programs

KDRC empowers local communities by promoting principles such as community control, public sector leadership, effective relationships, improving outcomes, and accountability, enabling communities to better manage their own development and governance.
